| I dont really care if its a pig that crashed... a serious crash is a crash and I think people should have some sensitivity in these matters because someone's life is at stake. These officers weren't power tripping but were serving their country.
Just my 2 cents. Not pinpointing anyone (just giving my own opinion) _________________ "Four wheels moves the body, Two wheels move the soul" |

| If they were 'regular' bikers, I wud've cared, but these are the same guys that stare at me doing the limit from the other side of the highway 'cause I'm supposedly on their 'watch list'. Fuckers _________________

| Another solo bike officer suffered a minor injury Monday night at Pearl Harbor while in a motorcade for the president.
About 7:30 p.m. Monday, the officer was traveling on North Road near Makalapa Gate at low speed when he attempted to make a U-turn on loose gravel, Fujii said.
The officer lost control on the gravel and fell, injuring his wrist.
Yesterday's accident was not the first involving a presidential motorcade this year. According to news reports, a motorcycle officer in Albuquerque, N.M., was injured in an accident in February while escorting the president on Interstate 25.
Seems Protecting the President of the US of A, old Dubya is a hazardous job.. Must be all that bad karma that sits over him like a massive cloud for his deeds while in office that is causing havoc for all others around him.. Wish it would just land squarely in his lap instead of fucking over others.. cops or not..
If I was a cop I wouldnt take the job to be part of the escort!!
Motorcycle cops at least have some insight as to what its like to be on the road with a bunch of cagers.. and they are more lenient than the cruiser driving ones..
I knew a few motorcycle cops in Toronto and they were some of the cooler ones out on the road.. |

| Shit happens to the best of us I suppose.
I don't know about other countries/states but in Qld police need 3-5 years heavy bike personal experience and then they go on an intense course. Some of those guys can really ride. And for years they did it on improperly modified & overweighted Honda ST1100s that posed an OHS risk after 140kph.
Now they've got the BMW K-Series but still aren't happy so they're looking at the FJR1300 which surprised me because I've seen the boys in blue U-turn those K-series at full tilt and on the throttle and they seem to handle very impressively.
My question, why don't they just bite the bullet and buy at least some Blackbirds and maybe even a Hayabusa or two for the fleet? Not the most cost effective option with needing aftermarket hard-bags and being chain-drive but it'd certainly give them a performance edge. Single-rate springs would rock my world if I was a moto-copper. _________________ http://www.australian-hayabusa-club.com/MyBB/index.php |

Thankfully attitudes like this are what makes Australia the great place it is.
Unfortunately I had a big off in the sticks a few years back on a VN1500. Bike ended up upside down on it's big handlebars, fuel pissing out everywhere, I was bleeding out - fast. The first person on the scene was in a car. He slowed right down, looked me in the eye then gassed it out of there leaving me to spurt blood in peace. |
atleast someone here agreees.. oh and ron as well _________________ "Four wheels moves the body, Two wheels move the soul" |

Kristin was chatting to a boy in blue the other day at a careers day thing. Apparently you'll never see a female motorcycle cop in Queensland (currently) because the female officers don't have the weight or the muscles to lift a patrol bike. It's one of the criteria on their test. They have to be able to lift it themselves, unaided, which makes a lot of sense. _________________
