So you wanna post a ride huh? ok a few simple rules

1. Make sure you post the time and location of the ride, and of course who you are! Smile
2. Post if its BRC people only or a mix of others.. Reason being is some groups don't like others crashing their rides, and hate their rides being crossposted.. If in doubt, ask the other group if its ok to cross post
3. It is your responsibility to make all the organizations for the ride, appoint tail end charlies etc to make sure it all goes well
4. Print and Bring an attendance sheet, so we know who showed up, and so you can keep track of who went out so we can keep everyone safe , and then submit that sheet to one of the Admin.
5. Don't post any illegal ride events like Cannonballs or speed camera blitzes or whatever.. Have fun doing that if thats what you like.. we just dont want to get popped for supporting something like that and having a record of it online.. We think you catch our drift.

Participating in Rides

1. Follow the road rules.. we dont want you to get a ticket, or worse get injured, or killed
2. Be respectful of other riders, dont be a jackass or a showoff, and do mono's at every chance you get. There is a time and place for that stuff.
3. Ride safely
4. Any violence or threatening behaviour WILL NOT be tolerated, and WILL get you banned and kicked out of this forum and the group! If you get pissed off, then take some time to cool off before doing something about it.. Don't be stupid! its just common sense!
5. Listen to the ride organizer about stops and rules and stuff... Who knows you might want to organize one too and you'd want people to listen to you right?
6. Help out if you can
7. Have a great time and take lots of pics and post them here Wink

A bit of a good read added by Red Roo!! Make sure you read this!

The ride should always have a riders briefing before it starts, this is to let the route be known, fact is this, ppl dont read instructions and use a tag-along mentality.

At riders briefing the routes explained, defined stop points announced which are usualy refuel points too. Corner Marker Riders (CM'S) introduced to the rider and their bikes made obvious to the riders for recognition purposes, same as Tailend Charlies (TC) .

Heres a typical scenario of a larger size ride ..

Organiser does rider briefing before departure.

Key riders made known (CM,s TC, official leader) make sure their phone numbers are known as well, for this ride a minimum of 3 CM's were needed

Make it also know that CM's will come back through the pack quite rapidly as they are doing a job and tend to be fast riders

Make it know at stop points to refuel on arrival, saves a lot of ppl sitting around in helmets and dead cows waiting to leave.

Newbie Riders and inexperinced rider make your selves know to the TC, hes they guy looking out for you.

On the subject of designated rides, this was listed as a "fast ride" which inevitably will attract some seriously genuinely fast riders, what may seem extreme or close to a newbie or inexperienced rider is the normal for these riders and yes it gets very close at times, they will get in behind you and be very quickly looking for a way around you, do yourself a big favour and try to ignore them, dont watch them in your mirrors and stay on line yourself, its their job to find the way through not yours to give it, by you trying to get out of their way your increasing your chances of crashing by going off line. Sometimes the fast riders have no choice in how fast they come up on you, thats how it is in the mountains but most are trying to give you enough room to do what you need to do and they are going to pass you as quickly as they can to reduce rider pressure on you.

When passing don't pass on the inside of a corner on left handers, always go round the long wide, this doesnt apply to right handers as to pass the inside is on the wrong side of the road, inside left handed passes are dangerous in the mountains. The only exception to the rule is if the front rider runs very wide and off line and your right up their ass.

If you pull up at a turn point dont take your helmet off for a ciggy or a chat, save it for the designated stop or just keep going till you get there, this keeps the ride flowing and disjointing to a minimal..

These are tried and proven methods performed by almost every rider group.

This site / and forum was craated so we could all get together and enjoy rides.. Unfortunately some people in the past have tried to make forums like these liable for injuries that were incurred during the events organized on the forums, by people using it. So we have to have ths disclaimer, and you SHOULD READ it, because its here and we and the courts will assume you did!
